Before joining CH2M in 1965, Mike owned and operated a management consulting practice, acting as a consultant to management in all aspects of general management, finance, organization, accounting systems, and taxes. Prior to that enterprising vocation, he served as an investment analyst for the First National Bank of Oregon, having risen to that role from a number of lesser positions with the bank.
Mike played a vital role in the growth and structural development of CH2M HILL throughout his entire career. The firm was obviously primarily engineering oriented and badly needed the strong character and dedicated vitality of a “Numbers Man” to keep it on a well planned and organized, efficiently operated Administrative course. Mike ran a “Tight Ship,” but his selfless dedication to his firm made him a highly respected individual.
