When Harry Reeder joined The Boeing Company in 1955, he flew as a crewmember on the first production model of the B-52. While at Boeing, he also worked in the wind tunnel test group, the Minuteman missile propulsion group, and airplane acoustics group.

Harry was active in ASME throughout his career. He was instrumental in establishing the Willamette Valley Section and has served as Section Chairman; Regional Secretary; Regional Vice President; member of the Governing Council, Council Executive Committee, Finance Committee; and Chairman of the National Nominating Committee. He is an ASME Fellow.

In 1978, a year after he left CH2M HILL, Harry and Mark Wirfs, another past CH2M HILL employee, started R&W Engineering, a mechanical/electrical consulting firm. He left R&W in 1997 to work for a minority-owned firm designing a 105-million gallon per day wastewater pump station for the City of Portland. He then worked for a woman-owned firm, again designing wastewater pump stations for the City of Portland. In 2001, he joined HDR to be a contract employee for the City of San Diego for approximately 4 years, 3 years while living in San Diego. Harry now rents space from R&W Engineering, where he does consulting as HCR Engr. LLC. He is currently working with CH2M HILL to complete the City of Portland Wet Weather Screening Facilities.
