The City of San Francisco’s Oceanside project was significant in that timing constrained us to get the last of the EPA wastewater treatment plant funding. The project included a large component of MBE firms, and we did the design in a new project office using the then innovative computer-aided drafting (CAD). I recall being Project Director, Jerry Wilson being Project Manager and Mike Iverson being Chief Engineer. We and the San Francisco city staff worked well together. They were heavily involved with reviews and running interference with various agencies. The Oceanside project was also our first compact and covered wastewater treatment plant design…and doing it in CAD helped us make design adjustments down the line.
