Described as the largest private research facility in Singapore – and one of P&G’s most iconic projects – the P&G Singapore Innovation Center (SgIC) has received yet another award for excellence.
Honored with the Good Design Mark, Gold Award, SgIC is recognized for its innovative and exceptional design, spurring the imagination and enhancing our day-to-day lives. P&G, the world’s largest consumer goods company, is one of CH2M’s long-time, strategic clients. Trusting us to perform hundreds of projects around the world, our company has delivered valued solutions to P&G for more than 30 years. This most recent project, SgIC, sets a new international standard of excellence for research and development centers. SgIC is designed to house more than 250 advanced research laboratories. The center serves as an international innovation hub for P&G’s global hair care, skin care, home care and personal health, and grooming products. Our very own Industrial & Advanced Technologies Global Manufacturing Solutions team provided project management, permitting, master planning, conceptual through detailed design, construction management, procurement, and startup services for the center. The SgIC Grand Opening was in March 2014.
“One of the many impressive parts of this story is how we won this project,” said project manager Troy Smith. “We previously completed a similar project for P&G – the P&G Technical Center in Beijing. It was because of our delivery excellence on that Beijing project that we were awarded P&G’s next big research center project, SgIC. This is a terrific example of great work paying off with more great work.”
SgIC previously secured LEED Silver certification and a Green Mark Gold designation from the Singapore Building and Construction Authority. Green Mark awards recognize sustainable buildings promoting energy savings, water savings, healthier indoor environments, and adoption of greenery.
